Upload your documents
Step three of the onboarding wizard asks you to upload key business documents. These documents give the platform context about your operations, so the AI can provide answers and recommendations that are relevant to your specific business rather than generic advice.

Choose what to upload
Start with the documents that best describe how your business operates today. You do not need to upload everything at once — focus on the most useful files first and add more over time.
Good starting documents include:
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs) — how your team does things today
- Organization charts — who does what and how teams are structured
- Process maps or flowcharts — visual descriptions of business workflows
- Financial summaries — revenue reports, cost breakdowns, or budget documents
- Marketing materials — brochures, pitch decks, or brand guidelines
- Customer data — anonymized customer lists, survey results, or feedback reports
Check the format and size
The platform accepts the following file types:
- Documents: PDF, DOCX, TXT
- Spreadsheets: XLSX, CSV
- Images: PNG, JPG, JPEG
Upload during onboarding
The wizard shows a drop zone where you can drag files from your computer or click to open a file browser.
You can upload multiple files at once. Each file is processed individually.
A progress indicator shows each file being uploaded and processed. Once complete, you will see a confirmation and can continue to the next step.
You should now see each file listed with a confirmation that processing is complete, and the wizard ready to advance to booking your kickoff call.
You can upload additional documents at any time from the Documents section of your dashboard.
When you upload a document, the platform processes it and adds the content to your organization’s knowledge base. Chat can then reference your documents when answering questions about your business, your Advizr team can review them to understand your operations, and workflows built for you can pull data and context from your uploaded files. Your documents are never shared with other clients — they stay in your isolated database and are only accessible to your team and your assigned Advizr staff.
If something goes wrong
- A file is rejected on upload. Check it is one of the supported formats above and under 25 MB. Export oversized files in sections, or ask your Advizr team to handle the import.
- The upload stalls or fails partway. Refresh the page and try again — files that already completed stay uploaded, and the wizard resumes at the same step.
- Processing seems stuck. Large files can take a few minutes. If a file shows no progress after ten minutes, remove it and upload it again.
- You uploaded the wrong file. Upload the correct version and let your FDE know in Chat which file to disregard.
Still stuck? Send your FDE a message in Chat with your browser, a screenshot, and when it happened.
