Getting around
The workspace has five rail sections and a lot of depth behind them. Two things make it fast to move through, and both take a minute to learn.
The command palette#
Press Cmd K (or Ctrl K on Windows) anywhere in the workspace, or click Search in the top bar.
Start typing what you want. The palette matches destinations, your goals, your coworkers and recent work, so “runs” gets you to Runs and a coworker name gets you to that coworker.
The palette is the fastest route to anything that is not on the rail: billing, your calendar, past sessions, the services catalog. If you cannot find a page in the sidebar, it is probably one keystroke away here.
The rail#
The left rail groups the workspace by what you are trying to do:

Only Today is open when you arrive. The others expand when you need them, which keeps the rail short rather than comprehensive.
Light, dark, or system#
The theme switcher is in the top bar, and also under your avatar menu and in Settings. Three options: Light, Dark, and System, which follows whatever your operating system is set to.
The choice is per device, so a dark workspace on your laptop does not force dark on your phone.
The top bar and avatar menu#
- Search opens the palette.
- Your team shows who is working right now without leaving the page.
- The bell carries unread counts and opens Inbox.
- Your avatar holds Settings, Notifications, Billing, Help, the theme switcher, and Sign out.
If something goes wrong#
- The palette does not open. Another application may have claimed the shortcut. Use the Search button in the top bar.
- The theme keeps reverting. The setting saves per device against your profile. If it is not sticking, check that your browser is not clearing site data on close.
- A page you expect is not on the rail. Not everything is. Try the palette.
