Set your first objective

Step two of the onboarding wizard asks you to set your first business objective. Objectives are the foundation of your Advizr engagement — they shape the workflows your team builds, the recommendations you receive, and how progress is measured. This page shows you how to write a strong objective.

Write a good objective

The best objectives are specific and measurable. They answer two questions: what do you want to change, and how will you know it worked?

Compare those with vague objectives like “use AI more” or “improve efficiency.” The specific versions tell your Advizr team exactly where to focus.

Set your objective in the wizard

Review the prompt

The wizard asks you what you want to achieve with AI in your business. Think about the single most important area where AI could save you time or money.

Write your objective

Type your objective in the text field. Be as specific as you can. Include numbers, timeframes, or outcomes if possible.

Confirm and continue

Review what you have written and click Continue. Your objective is saved and shared with your Advizr team.

You should now see the wizard advance to the document upload step, and your objective listed on the Goals page in the sidebar.

Your Advizr team uses your objectives to decide what to build first, which documents to prioritize for analysis, and what learning content to recommend. Without a clear objective, the team has to guess at what matters most to you. A well-defined objective saves time for everyone and leads to better results faster. Objectives also appear on your Goals page, where you can track progress over time and see how the work being done connects to your business outcomes.

Update objectives later

You are not locked into your first objective. You can add new objectives, edit existing ones, or close completed ones from the Goals section at any time. Most clients add two or three more objectives after their kickoff call.

If something goes wrong

  • You cannot decide on a single objective. Write your best guess — the kickoff call exists to refine it with your FDE. A rough objective beats an empty one.
  • The Continue button does nothing. Check that the objective field is not empty. If it still does not respond, refresh the page; the wizard resumes at the same step.
  • You wrote the wrong thing and already continued. Finish the wizard, then edit the objective from the Goals page.

Still stuck? Send your FDE a message in Chat with your browser, a screenshot, and when it happened.
