Start your day from Dashboard

Dashboard is the first thing you see when you sign in. It is a command centre rather than a report. One line tells you what is waiting on a decision from you. Everything else starts with you saying what you want.

FIG. 01
Dashboard: what needs your OK, the composer, and everything your team can do.

What is on the screen#

Four things, and that is the whole page.

What needs your OK

A single line at the top counts everything waiting on a human decision and opens straight into Inbox. When nothing is waiting, the line is not there.

The greeting

Your name and the time of day. A greeting, not a status line.

The composer

One box, and the way into everything else. Type what you want in plain words. Press / anywhere on the page to jump to it, or use the microphone and say it.

See everything your team can do

Opens a searchable list of every ability your team has, every app it can work in, and every page your role can open. Pick a row and it writes the ask into the composer for you.

If you only open one screen a day, open this one. Everything that needs a human decision reaches Dashboard, so you can leave the rest of the workspace alone until you want detail.

Ask for an outcome, not a step#

The composer takes an outcome rather than an instruction. “Find out which accounts went quiet this quarter” works better than naming a tool or a step.

What happens next depends on the size of the ask. Small ones run straight away. Anything larger comes back as a plan first, and nothing runs until you approve it. That is deliberate. Your team checks with you before it acts, not after.

Dashboard can also act on the answer rather than just describe it. Ask it to take you to your goals and it opens the page. Ask it to put something on your task list and the task exists. That is the difference between this screen and a search box.

When a conversation is worth more room, “Open the full view” carries the whole thread into Interact with nothing lost.

Picking up where you left off#

If you had a conversation in the last twelve hours, Dashboard offers it back above the composer, labelled with your own opening line. Click it and the thread returns, including the work your team did inside it.

What Dashboard does not show#

Dashboard is a starting point, not an archive. Full history lives elsewhere:

  • Every run your team has done is in Runs
  • Every message, approval and decision is in Inbox
  • The weekly write-up is in Digest
Why there are no summary panels

Dashboard used to answer five questions on your behalf whether or not you were asking them, and most mornings you wanted one of the five. It now answers the one you ask. The approvals line stays because that is the only thing the screen knows you need before you have said a word.

If something goes wrong#

  • Dashboard looks sparse. That is the design. Type into the composer and the page fills with the answer.
  • Nothing comes back when you ask. Check the notice above the composer. If the ask needs a connected app you do not have yet, your team will say so rather than guess.
  • Something you actioned is still showing. Refresh the page. If it persists, say so in Interact so your team can look.
  • An item opens a page you cannot act on. Some actions need the Client Admin role. See Roles and permissions.
