Upload your documents
The Documents section is your file library. Every document you upload - during onboarding or at any point after - appears here with its processing status. Documents feed your organization’s knowledge base, which means the AI in Chat, your workflows, and your Advizr team all draw on the files you provide.

Upload a document
Click Documents in the left sidebar. On mobile, tap the menu icon in the top-left corner first.
The Upload button is at the top of the page.
Drag and drop one or more files, or click to browse your computer. Supported formats are PDF, DOCX, and TXT for documents; XLSX and CSV for spreadsheets; PNG, JPG, and JPEG for images. Maximum file size is 25 MB per file - if you need to upload something larger, contact your Advizr team.
Each file is processed individually; larger files may take a few minutes. A status indicator next to each file shows where it is: uploading, processing, or ready.
You should now see each file listed in your library with a status of ready. From that point the AI can reference it in conversations and workflows.
How documents are processed
When you upload a file, the platform:
- Stores the file securely in your isolated database
- Extracts the text content and key data points
- Adds the content to your organization’s knowledge base
- Makes it available for Chat, workflows, and your Advizr team
You do not need to tell the AI which document to use - it automatically finds relevant content based on your question or request. If you want to focus on a specific document, mention it by name in Chat.
Documents are stored in your isolated database - a dedicated database provisioned for your organization alone. They are never shared with other clients, never used to train AI models, and never used outside your engagement. Only your team and your assigned Advizr staff can see them. See Data and privacy for the full picture.
Organize your library
As your document library grows, you can:
- Search by file name or content keywords
- Filter by file type or upload date
- Sort by name, date, or status
Download and share
You can download any document you have uploaded. Documents are automatically shared with your assigned Advizr team members - no separate sharing step is needed.
Delete a document
If a file is outdated or was uploaded by mistake, remove it from your library:
Use search, filters, or sorting to locate the file in your library.
Open the document’s actions and select Delete, then confirm.
You should now see the document gone from your library, and the AI stops referencing it in new conversations and workflows.
If something goes wrong
- An upload fails immediately. Check that the file is 25 MB or smaller and in a supported format. Rename files with unusual characters and try again.
- A file is stuck in processing. Large files can take a few minutes. Refresh the page; if it is still processing after 15 minutes, flag it in Chat.
- The AI is not referencing a new document. Confirm the file’s status is ready, then mention the document by name in Chat to point the AI at it directly.
- You deleted the wrong document. Deletion is permanent, so re-upload the file from your own copy. The new upload is processed like any other document.
Still stuck? Send your FDE a message in Chat with your browser, a screenshot, and when it happened.
